Working with the youth of Evangel Temple (Kingdom Invasion) has been the most rewarding experience of my life. Sure, some of them beat me at different things, threw a pie in my face, covered me in silly string, and poured a large bucket of cold water over my head (any volunteers?). By the way, that was not all at the same time (thank God)! The truth is I would do it many times over to see them falling in love with the Lord like they are. There is nothing like observing people who the Lord has entrusted to your care giving their lives to Him.
Another reason why I have enjoyed working with the youth is things have to be fun. The Lord wants us to take pleasure in the life He has given us. It doesn't matter how busy we are, He wants us to remember to have fun. Now, having a pie thrown in your face may or may not be the answer. The point still stands. Youth is a frame of mind, not an age.
A high point for me during my time with the youth was just being together. We didn't have to be spending heaps of money; we just did things together and enjoyed one another's company. Youth know the importance of being with those they care about.
The youth group of Evangel Temple has proved that church doesn't have to be boring and that food will draw a crowd. Through the time I have been involved, I have seen youth saved, healed, and passionately pursuing the Lord. We have had the opportunity to minister to many youth, including those who do not come to church. Bit by bit bridges are built, trust is gained, and the Lord is magnified. I expect this to continue until the Day of Christ Jesus when we meet Him in the sky.
To Kingdom Invasion "May the LORD bless you from Zion all the days of your life" (Psalm 128:5). Go after Jesus with all you are and you will never be disappointed. Remember that the Lord loves you and I will always be cheering you on
